Operation & Configuration

Outdoor window shutters differ from our other offerings in some very major ways. The first being that the louvres are permanently fixed in place – their angle cannot be adjusted. They are also often installed on arms, ensuring that there is plenty of room to open the window behind them.

The frames, however, can be operated similarly to our other shutter ranges – choose from hinged, bi-fold and sliding. They can also be fixed, which means they will be permanently fixed in place over the top of the window.

Colours & Finishes

Our standard colour range delivers a selection of popular powder coated colours that are sure to be the perfect fit for custom exterior shutters. If you still can’t find a perfect match, we can also custom powder coat in an almost endless range of colours and finishes. Our consultants can help you to select the most appropriate colour for your needs.

Where to Use?

As their name suggests, exterior window shutters are designed exclusively for use outdoors. They can be used on whatever outdoor space you want, from alfresco areas to windows and doors. They also have a use in screening, helping you to hide parts of your home from view (such as an ugly air conditioning unit that would otherwise stick out like a sore thumb).

FAQs

Q Can there be more than 2 panels in an opening?

AYes, there are actually a few ways that you can achieve this. The most common is through the addition of a vertical post between the panels. For more information on how we can make this work in your home and advice on how to proceed, be sure to speak with your consultant.

Q How do I care for these shutters?

AA bonus of choosing outside shutters for windows is that they’ll require very little maintenance over their lifetime. It is recommended that you give them a thorough clean every three to six months using a mild detergent solution. Be sure to rinse the louvres off when you’re done.
